Common Ground Community Concerts holds nine or ten concerts a year at its flagship series, Common Ground Coffeehouse at the First Unitarian Society of Westchester, from September through June.  We also on occasion produce additional concerts in association with  for local community organizations. Common Ground Coffeehouse shows are held in the First Unitarian Society of Westchester’s sanctuary, which holds 100-125, depending on seating arrangements. And most concerts are held on the 4th Saturday of each month, except if there’s a holiday weekend, such as Thanksgiving weekend or Memorial Day weekend, or, in the rare occasion when we adapt our schedule to match the tour schedule for a specific artist.

Generally speaking, we’re proud to feature a very wide and eclectic diversity of music, ranging from  folk, blues, Americana, world music and  jazz, to alternative-folk/rock, singer-songwriters, popular song, klezmer, cajun-zydeco, children’s music and music that can’t otherwise be classified. With rare exceptions, we generally do not feature crunk, death metal, Celine Dion tribute shows, or songs about dentistry, except if they’re REALLY good..

More often than not, we approach established nationally or regionally touring artists (or their representatives) to book our shows. However, as much as possible, we also like to present local or emerging artists as well. If you would like to be considered for a slot on our schedule, please be aware that we usually book 6 months to a year in advance. We are happy to receive inquiries at commongroundconcerts@gmail.com, and ask that you send a link to an EPK, ReverbNation, BandCamp or other website with full bio info and music samples. Although we promise to listen to everything, due to the very high volume of inquiries we receive, we unfortunately can only contact those artists who we are interested in booking.
