deer scout

The child of two folk musicians, Dena Miller writes songs that are eloquent and infectiously melodic. She performs under the moniker ‘deer scout’ because she is afraid of hitting deer on the road. Miller began playing music in a tiny yellow room in Philadelphia punk rock fraternity, Pilam. Her debut EP, Customs, is a wistful meditation on childhood and memory, recorded at home in Yonkers, NY. The first single off deer scout’s upcoming release, sad boy, is a synth pop ode to the affected liberal arts bro. The track features Miller’s bright vocals over a lush ‘80s video game soundscape produced by her father, early Sega composer Mark Miller.
